Beautiful Pile

I love cars.
They're fast and shiny and they sound cool. What's not to love?
I have one car that I have extra strong feelings about. Its my Nissan 240SX.
To most people it is a loud ugly car with mismatched paint and wheels; that is too low to the ground and doesn't have A/C.
I stand here today to defend my car. My Nissan is....

All of the above is true.

I guess I most people can't see it for the beauty that's inside. And I don't mean what's inside of the cab. (I ripped everything but the seats out.(too heavy!)) This lil' beauty has heart and soul.
Most of the car I bought from a buddy for $500. Bargain. The rest of it I had shipped from Japan. I pulled out the motor and took off the American 240SX front sheet metal. I crammed the much livelier Japanese motor in and then slapped on the Japanese 240SX front sheet metal. (The 240SX is known as the Nissan Silvia in Japan.)
Why do I tell you all this? No real reason. But its my blog and I will tell you boring car stories if I want . So take that!
Just kidding, I am just explaining why I took this next set of picture. It's too show you how beautiful my lil' Nissan is.
And without further blabbing about car stuff... Enjoy!

The removable steering wheel is the only anti-theft I have.

It's a lil' thing I like to call camber. Can You dig it?

Saturday Morning

If it’s Saturday morning and 95 degrees I usually think to myself, “Self, maybe it's time for you to go sit in the air conditioned basement.”

But it was not to be.

My great friends B&B Stevenson are back in Layton for the summer. And Brooke had decided that this 95 degree Saturday I would get no time sitting in an air conditioned anything.

Brad and Brooke were married six years ago. Since then they have both finished their bachelors degrees, had a son Tate, moved to St. Louis where Brad attends med school and there they had a second son Luke.

That’s a long way to go in six years.

When B&B were engaged they had there engagement photos taken on Antelope Island. Brooke thought that it was time to take the whole Stevenson fam (That’s B&B&T&L) out to the island again for some updated photos.

They were nice enough to indulge there long time friend, me, and let me take the new pictures for them.

Luckily they are a very cute and photogenic family.

You can't tell from the picture, but Tate hated walking in this water worse then anyone has ever hated anything.

Luke was pretty well worn out by the end of the day.

Luke was either drunk or he can't walk yet. I forget which.

New lens!!!

I did it! I finally talked my self into buying a really nice lens I can't afford. I know this may not be the best use of my money. It being that I drive 35 miles one way to work and gas is hovering around $3400 a gallon...

Lets not focus on the bad...

I did it!

The lens in question is a sexy lil' number by Sigma. It is there 20mm f/1.8 prime aspherical. If you have no idea what that means I will explain.

1) It's sexy.

2) The 20mm makes it a nice wide angle with out being a fisheye.

3) It has the super fantasticly fast shutter speed of 1.8. That means no more shaky low light images. (Go team!)

4) It's prime. That is; it does not zoom. Were a lot of lenses will zoom, for example, from 18-55mm, this one does not. And while a zoom makes for much less of me running around; It also makes for less sharpness in my images.

5) Definition of aspherical: not sphere-shaped; not perfectly spherica. I dunno either. I just know It makes for some really sharp, crisp pictures.

6) It's mine!

Now that we are done learning lets look at the pictures.

This Is something that I don't know what it is. I found it in the back of B&B's van and thought it photo worthy.

This picture has a practical purpose. We needed to see if B&B's son Tate had noticable boggers. The answer is no.

This cat is always sitting in a fern pot outside of Grace and Gm's house.

This barren patch of earth is what is called a "beach" at the Antelope Island State Park.

B's sandels on the Great Salt Lakes Shore.

Here we see Tate giving B a traditional good night poke in the face.

This fountain is tucked away in the corner of Grace's super cool yard/garden.

I ate these... Thats all.

My new lens makes my fur covered helmet even sexier. Didn't know that was possible.

I bought this squid baby in Japan as a gift for B&B. Who wouldn't enjoy something this creepy?

Bobble head cow?

We call her Slowness or Underbite. Neither her name, but shes never said she didn't like being called that.

Cat.

Cat's foot.

Butt found on the previously mentioned "beach".

Who dosen't want a copper roster next to thier fern?
